About Us
The Pu’uloa Rifle and Pistol Club (PRPC) was founded in 1983, and is authorized to operate as a tenant organization within the confines of Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) Kaneohe Range, and the CSTF, Pu’uloa Range at Ewa Beach, Hawaii. The basis for our approved operation as a tenant organization on MCBH is a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between MCBH and the PRPC. The mission of the PRPC is to:
We work closely with our Marine Corps hosts and the Hawaii National Guard Marksmanship Team and are committed to the promotion of marksmanship and its excellence. The PRPC is a member of the Hawaii Rifle Association (HRA), the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).
The PRPC is a non-federal entity and has no government status. It is not an instrumentality of the United States Government, nor is there an official relationship between its activities and those of the Department of Defense, DOD personnel who are members or participants. This organization is not entitled to sovereign immunities and privileges accorded to the instrumentalities of the United States Government. We are not a militia organization and we do not support individuals or organizations that promote revolution, civil disorder or the destruction of the United States of America.
The Club is managed by a seven (7) position Board of Directors elected by the Club membership on an annual basis. Membership in the organization consists of military, retired military, Dept. of Defense (DoD) civilians, retired DoD civilians, and non-military affiliated civilians in limited numbers. The organization is regulated by DoD, USMC and MCBH regulations requiring specific membership, management and financial controls. We operate under the auspices of MCBH Marine Corps Community Services, and perform a support function in affiliation with the MCBH Weapons Training Battalion (WTBN) for shooting matches and basic firearms training.
We offer different shooting disciplines for both the novice shooter and the experienced marksman. If you are a new shooter, we can assist you with preliminary instruction on the fundamentals of marksmanship. For the more experienced shooter, our club offers both rifle and pistol competitions and also advanced marksmanship training opportunities. Because the PRPC is a Civilian Marksmanship Program affiliate, PRPC club members are also qualified to purchase rifles (M-1 Garands, M1903 Springfields, M-1 carbines, etc…), ammunition, and spare parts from the CMP.
